Everyone's "Why" is different - Why did I join?

I've wanted my own business since I was three years old.  In my bedroom, I ran an office, a restaurant, grocery store and held events like Carnivals for my family.  I had short-order pads, made my own credit cards with those letter-by-letter embossing guns and owned a chick-chick credit card machine to carbon copy my "payments" for my customer "orders".  I had telephones, cash registers and customer service bells. 

Fifteen years ago, I was introduced to the idea of starting my own home-based crafting business when my Demonstrator moved away.  I decided to jump in and sign up and I have enjoyed every minute of it!  I still get to use some of those office supplies, but now I also get to play with craft supplies and spend time with real people - I am helping them preserve their memories and send a smile in the mail!  The best part?  I don't have to buy or lease a building or invest in a back room filled with inventory...and someone else does all the trend research and analysis.  

I get to focus on the fun parts - plan, craft and visit!  Imagine setting up time once a month for your friends to get together and chat, laugh and be creative - and get away from their own house and stresses!

Since I worked full-time outside the home, I loved that my business was able to take a break or slow down when life got too busy and I could ramp it right back up when I had the time or encountered new opportunities.
